Running a dental practice is difficult and from time to time you need a break. But, the expenses don't stop just because you're on holiday. It's horrible to come back with a full credit card an an empty practice bank account. And, you want your patients covered for emergencies.
I know exactly how you feel because I ran my own practices for 22 years. I used to close my office because I didn't have access to a high quality locum dentist and I didn't want headaches — the treatment that needed to be redone for no cost and the upset patients.

You will only get value out of me if you keep me reasonably busy.

Some dentists go away and leave their practice in the care of a "junior" dentist.
